anti-spam policy

This policy governs how Lifelong — the mobile app and the website at trylifelong.com, operated by Lifelong Company — may and may not be advertised or referenced in electronic messages. It is binding on us, our employees and contractors, and any affiliate, partner, reseller, or third party acting on our behalf.

1. the policy

Lifelong and trylifelong.com must never be advertised, promoted, or linked to in unsolicited electronic messages of any kind. This prohibition covers unsolicited bulk or commercial email, SMS, instant messages, direct messages on social platforms, forum and comment spam, and any other unsolicited electronic contact, regardless of who sends it.

We do not buy, rent, harvest, scrape, or otherwise acquire email address lists, and we do not send to addresses obtained that way. Every address we mail was given to us directly by the person who owns it.

2. how we obtain consent

We send email to two groups of people, and only those two:

• People who asked to hear from us. Someone who entered their own email address into a form on trylifelong.com — our waitlist or early-access intake — in order to be told when Lifelong is available. The request for their address is the whole purpose of that form, and what they are signing up for is stated on it.
• People with an account. Registered users, who receive transactional messages about their own account — sign-in links, invitations they requested, receipts, security notices, and service updates.

We keep a record of the time and origin of every sign-up so any address can be traced back to the moment it was given to us. We do not add people to our lists on someone else's behalf, and an invitation sent by one family member to another is sent once, at that member's explicit request, and is not a marketing message.

3. how we send

• Marketing email is sent only from news.trylifelong.com, always carries a working one-click unsubscribe link and our postal address, and identifies Lifelong Company as the sender.
• Transactional email is sent only from send.trylifelong.com and only in response to something the recipient did.
• All of our mail is authenticated with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and is sent through a single reputable email delivery provider. We do not use open relays, botnets, snowshoe sending, or third-party bulk mailers.
• Subject lines, sender names, and headers are accurate. We do not disguise the origin of a message or the fact that it comes from Lifelong.

4. unsubscribing

Every marketing message contains an unsubscribe link that works without requiring a login, a reply, or any further information. Unsubscribes and spam complaints are honoured immediately and permanently: the address is added to a suppression list that is checked before every send, so it cannot be mailed again even if it is later re-imported. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing privacy@trylifelong.com.

5. affiliates and third parties

We have no affiliate programme, and no third party is authorised to advertise Lifelong or trylifelong.com on our behalf. Should we ever work with partners or affiliates, they will be bound by this policy as a condition of that relationship. Any partner, contractor, or employee who sends unsolicited messages referencing this website will have their relationship with us terminated, and any resulting commissions or payments withheld.

6. compliance

We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act (United States), CASL (Canada), the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (New Zealand), the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive (EU/UK), and the Spam Act 2003 (Australia). Where these differ, we follow the strictest applicable standard.

7. reporting abuse

If you receive any unsolicited message advertising Lifelong or trylifelong.com, we want to know. Forward it — with full message headers, if you can — to privacy@trylifelong.com. We investigate every report, respond to the sender, and will publish and act on our findings. Mail sent to that address is read by a person.
